Berry golden and only hazy. It definitely doesn’t look like a White. Good head with ring lace initially and then minor spots.
Spicy smell of coriander and yeast. Not very Belgian.
The flavor is sweeter than expected. There’s some faint Belgian yeast here. The wheat malt is the strongest element. Thin bodied with an elevated carbonation. Shorter aftertaste.

When's a Witbier not quite a Witbier but still tastes like one? When it's from Bent Water. Belgian Whites, or anything of the the sort, should be cloudy and pale in color but this poured and looked like a Pilsner in my pint glass and the aroma could have been a bit more steadfast but like any beer of this style, the flavors and enjoyment were there as it felt like there wasn't any alcohol in this!
Sure, this was golden, bright, and a bit bubbly when held up to the light which made me beg the question:
Where's the wheat?
I'm so used to Witbiers and Hefeweizens where you couldn't see anything but cloudiness and for some reason, the appearance of this threw me off. A small head and near-lack of laciing left behind on my pint glass was enough to confuse me even further. Thankfully, there was enough banana, clove, and yes, wheat in the nose to get me and my senses back on track. More banana, lemon, and light spice were in the taste as this *almost* reminded me of something from Sam Adams although this was not as formulatic as anything from Boston Beer. A hint of grass and yes, wheat (!) emerged once this fully warmed up as this had a balanced body to it as the sweet/lemon pledge factor was never in play throughout my time with this.
Need something for the summer without any heft? You've found your match here as this was as weak as a beer could be and still feel like the real thing from start to finish. Just a bit acrid and plenty cracked, this somehow ended up as a true Witbier in the end in spite of the roundabout way that this took to get there. This can that was undated on the bottom paired nicely with this mild night as it had me wishing that summer was back - vibes and all...

To me this is a watered down Hefeweizen. Not that there’s anything wrong with that especially if you don’t like being crushed by banana and clove. Reminds me of Sixpoint Apollo….same idea although this tamps it down a bit further. An easy drinker no doubt.

I really enjoy the beers from this brewery.
Light lemon golden color in a small snifter, which is the better glass for the beer.
Very strong spice, clove, and a little lemon in the aroma.
Medium body, more than the usual wheat beer.
Clove, spice and a little lemon to the taste.
Very spicy finish.
I continue to enjoy the beers from this brewery.
