It’s always a beautiful thing to find a Baltic Porter out in the wild when you’re not looking for it. This one is quite high in alcohol for style (if you ignore all the barrel aged Framinghammers) but still seems like it will lean more traditional. Let’s crack it open and find out
Pours a very dark brown with 2 fingers of frothy tan head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
It’s definitely leaning into the classic vibes of the style in the nose, but the booze adds a twist. I’m picking up on aromas of red grape, dark bread, molasses, brown sugar, light roast coffee, sweet vanilla, toffee, and milk chocolate
Even lighter and fruitier in taste, I can get down with this one. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting red grape, brown sugar, dark toast, plum, medium roast coffee, light toffee, and cocoa powder. The swallow brings notes of red grape, overripe banana, dark bread, toffee, cocoa powder, medium roast coffee, and light vanilla
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in slick beer. Finishes dry with a nice balance, drinking well below its abv
Well it’s not the best in the style, but this is still damn good. I’ll probably pick up more if it’s around

Excellent limited release porter hopped with Fuggles and Perle. Dark, opaque appearance. Mild on the nose. I taste notes of espresso and oak.
