Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – the beer pours a clear golden straw color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading slowly and leaving a good deal of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a cereal grain smell mixed with notes of a light caramel malt and a little bit of corn. Along with these smells comes a touch of hay and a bit of earthiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a very crisp and clean grain and cracker malt flavor mixed with a bit of corn and some light caramel. The sweet and grain dry a bit as the taste advances, all while some light hay and earth join in, taking the taste to its final state on the tongue and leaving one with a crisp and light natured taste.
Mouthfeel – The body is rather thin and crisp with a moderate to slightly more bubbly carbonation level.
Overall – A decent light lager. Would be good for a hot summer day.

fairly certain i have the right beer here and that it wasnt the premium they make, i recall the blue branding from the tap handle, this was fine, but much less impressive than their hazy sluice juice, which really made an impression on me. this is just beer flavored beer, pale and light, but not that light, i think its cool they put a little rice in it to keep it light, but it doesnt drink like a japanese style rice lager or anything, this is pretty thoroughly american, crafty, but still just a yellow beer, and im not sure the execution is amazing overall. it could have been the bar we were at, but this poured a little flat looking and felt that way to me too, a bummer in a style i want to sing. there is some grain character to the taste, to me almost a european pils base on it, very light herbal and maybe faintly grassy hop profile, but pretty reduced in that regard to be sure. its not quite minimalist, but the lager yeast is very light too, it dries this out, a faint metallic thing at the end, but relatively clean, slightly cheap on the finish as it warms but refreshing when i get it down nice and frosty. i think this serves its purpose without being anything special, just off from being generic with the rice and the tiny hop kick, but it still fits neatly into the light lager space for those looking for a craft alternative to the macro yellows. craft lagers sure are hot right now, seems like everyone is getting into the game with these...
