Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a very hazy yellow orange color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is massive of tropical fruits with tons of papaya and mango as well as a decent showing of some tangerine. Along with these aromas comes a moderately strong showing of some bitter grapefruit rind hop as well as a hit of some light herbal smells. Overall, rather fruity and inviting.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather strong showing of a of a chewy doughy malt taste that is accompanied by all the tropical fruits that were detected in the nose. The fruitiness gives the overall taste a moderately strong sweetness straight away, with it lasting throughout the flavor profile. Upfront there is some grapefruit hop and a bit of grass. As the taste advances the sweetness increases a bit as more tangerine and some orange come to the tongue. At the same time the grapefruit hop builds and is joined by some more dank hop tastes of herb and earth. The later tastes add a new dimension to the taste, and with the increase in the fruit, leave one with a moderately citrus/dank and sweet fruity taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the mix of fruity and hop the feel is rather nice and compliments the flavors rather well.
Overall – A tasty, more fruity, and moderately hopped hazy IPA. A rather good brew to try!
