Poured into a Chuckanut pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, dark red-orange with a thin white head that dissipates to patches, but leaves moderate lacing. Aroma of mildly caramel malt, red berries, honey; malty. Flavor is dry caramel and biscuit malt, rye bread crust, mild honey. Finishes malty with light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess and good mouth feel. A nice red / brown hybrid ale with hints of honey, but mostly malty and bready with the dominate flavor like the crust of a multigrain bread made with honey. The red ale berry notes from the aroma are not found in the taste. I'm not sure I'd detect the honey if I didn't know it was there but it is detectable in the finish. I like malty ales and anything brewed with honey and I like this. I want to try some of their other honey inspired beers now.
