not at all retired, this is their base ipa, and its all over telluride. i like it a lot, a hazy looking but slanted towards amber in color ipa, richer looking than most, nice and heady, and with a nose than favors pine over citrus but pulls elements of both into a brightly hoppy aroma that transitions well into the taste. the grain is different too, maybe a pinch of wheat, its fuller bodied for sure, and works with a wide range of foods because of its relative lack of abrasiveness. there is some yeast flavor in here too, not common in american styles, but i like what it does, whether intentional or not, it lingers and makes the beer a little more dynamic. the negative here is the bitterness, which seems out of place with all this grain balance, it just doesnt need to be there. it also came out of the tap a little warm, which is more of an end than a beginning for an ipa, and it all seemed to move a little too quick because of that. well made though, and while not the most interesting beer i had from these guys, it was pretty drinkable and a half step off the beaten path.

Poured a nice copper, slighty cloudy. Small white head with great lacing.
Very hoppy aroma! Lots of hops!
At first the taste is sweet and malty with a strong hop back. The hops linger on the tongue as well. After several sips you get a taste like oranges within the hops.
Good carbonation and a medium body. My tongue is very stimulated with hop sensation.
Great session beer. I look forward to trying their imperial IPA.
