Copenhagen 21/11 2015. 75 cl bottle from Føtex, Mimersgade, Kbh. NV. The usual Phoenix on the label declaring this to be a Christmas Beer. A little more shining silver on the label to prove it.
Pours clear reddish brown with a white head. Settles as a flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is of Belgian yeast, banana and spices. Whiff of caramel and brown sugar.
Medium strong carbonation and oily palate.
Flavor is quite sweet. Raisins and other dry fruit, sugar, caramel and spices. There is only a medium strong sourness and bitterness to balance the Christmas sweetness.
Very Christmaslike but a bit too sweet.

On tap.
Clear dark amber body with an average, frothy, off-white head, mostly lasting with some nice lacing.
Moderate malty (caramel, light toasted) aroma with notes of ripe fruits (apple, plum) and spices.
Moderate sweet flavour; average-lasting sweet finish.
Light-to-medium body with watery-to-oily texture; soft carbonation.

Another 'Limited' run from Grimbergen, the previous Noël was withdrawn, but a revised version is back.
This one is a Dubbel and pours a lovely deep plum body with caramel head. I confess to drinking this from the wrong glass and despite my best efforts when pouring I didn't do the head justice.
Aroma is mixed with malt and ripe fruits, bananas, figs, plums. It doesn't tease you in like a good winter Noël beer should.
Taste is very good to be fair, the malty/caramel combo with those fruits is it's best feature.
I feel it is a little too watery for a Christmas beer, so have given it a slightly better than average score, but overall this is 4/5 beer all day long.
