Imagine you've just run 55 miles in the Leadville 100 trail ultra and you're on top of the 12,600 foot Hope Pass for the 2nd time in just a few hours. The air is crisp with pine and citrus and life is good. Made with an abundance of C-type hops and Victory malt, Hope Pass is built to be much easier drink than it is to climb.

Caramel clear body with a white ring. Smell bursting with grapefruit, lemon, caramel malt, and hops. Taste has grapefruit pith, hops, earth, and a surprising amount of booze. Feel is sharp, bitter, yet light bodied. Needs a little more malt balance.

Maybe we hit the place on a bad day. The IPA was very much a malt driven taste, and made for a decent amber ---- but not an IPA.
