12 oz. can, 499 YOUNG WEDDA MANIFESTED ON 10/06/2022, so it's about two months in the can. Not bad for a oatmeal stout. My fifth beer from Alter Brewing Company.
Poured to Camp Crystal Lake stemless wine snifter.
Pours a super thick dark black body, opaque in the glass, with a large finger's worth of frothy chocolate foam head. Head has good staying power & leaves some good random spotty lace.
Aroma brings traditional amounts of dark roast & charred malts, with a distinct amount of earthy herbal hop bitterness.
Taste follows: notes of dark char / roast, liquid smoke, dark fruit flavors a la fig & currant. Again, distinct herbal hop bitterness, probably a bit more than is needed for an oatmeal stout. Tastes a bit cola-ish to me at times also.
Feel is smooth, fairly easy drinking. Carbonation is a bit bloating.
Overall, an average oatmeal stout from Alter. Good as a winter warmer I suppose.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into a snifter. Part of a recent trade and in my cellar since its arrival. the date stamp says sip by 4/2022. So here we go.
Pours a rich cola brown color with a creamy beige densely packed head of 2 cm. This head sticks around through out the sampling and leaves very tight lattice when I swirl my glass.
the aroma is mild but I do get some light cocoa powder and some roasted malts with bits of caramel. No hints of hop character nor any ABV hints.
First sip reveals a medium body with silky smooth texture and fine gentle carbonation. Almost feels more like hot cocoa than a beer, if no carbonation it would fit the bill.
Flavor is some roasted malts, a bit of sweet chocolate and some caramel. The caramel lingers a little and I get a bit of oat flavor here, like a bowl of oatmeal actually. Im not getting any hints of booze on this one and the hops dont really come through much either.
A smooth easy drinking oatmeal stout. worth a pick up.

12oz can pours deep blackish brown with dark khaki head that recedes to a ring. Smell is of rich, roasted malts. Mouthfeel is fairly viscous and slightly syrupy, alcohol heat at the end of the sip. Taste has the usual malt, cocoa, and coffee character with a smooth feel to it. Taste ends with alcohol flavor and too many hops. I like my oatmeal stouts a little stronger on the malt flavors and less so on the alcohol and hops.
Not a big fan of this one, probably won't get again, but didn't hate it either.

12oz, best by 06/23/20. Dark brown colored stout with a foamy tan head. Aroma is roasted barley, chocolate, oats, and a bit of smoke. I am really digging the flavors: a good meld of dark cocoa, roasted barley, oats, nut, caramel, smoke & char, and earthy hops. Full body, creamy and smooth, ample carbonation, smoky & earthy finish with dark chocolate lingering. This beer really did it for me - great balance of flavors.

12oz can poured into a pint glass shows a dark brown body and floats a 1/2in cap of tan colored mixed bubbles leaving erratic spotted lacing.
Aromas include a strong roasted coffee bean with a hint of cocoa.
Flavors are an even mix of both coffee and cocoa beans and a metallic, or mineral, tinge.
Creamy mouthfeel leans full and finishes clean.
Overall a solid oatmeal stout.
