We used a small portion of Oak-smoked Wheat malt in this German-style Altbier to bring out aromas of fresh baked pretzels and smoked almonds with pleasant bitterness from German Noble hops. The modest ABV and easy drinking makes it a perfect pairing for backyard BBQ.

Had on tap. Proper brown altbier body with a tan head and spotted lacing. Smells of fresh baked brown bread, big smoke obviously, dry earth, light nuttiness and german yeast. Taste nails the vision as well, capturing the smoke and using it for the enhancement of the earth, nuts, bread, yeast, and hint of wood root, impressive. Feel is lighter bodied but the smoke and malt work well enough together to carry. Not the most complex altbier, but it does what it set out to do very well
