On tap at the brewery, cloudy sunrise gold. Smells of wheat, pineapple, bananas. Taste of tropical fruit juice, white wine, hop balance. Bright refreshing feel, just excellent.

this is a really exceptional hefeweizen, traditional, could have come from germany, no joke. these guys impressed me when we visited, but i am only now starting to see their beers around the market a little bit, this was on tap up at klines last night, and really is one of the better straight up hefe types i have had in some time. it looks the part, pale straw colored and softly cloudy in the glass under a full inch of creamy almost milky looking white head. it smells estery from the yeast, white grape, coriander, and ripe banana, interesting and with some minerals to it, but not overdone at all, and certainly not taking over or making this one dimensional, but in nice balance with the earthy wheat malt and a little spiciness in here too. the flavor is great, really well integrated yeast complexity, white pepper and clove and allspice meet autumnal fruitiness, apple and pear and wine. it is dry and its fizzy, and it really pops on the palate, i love this texture in this style, so lively, its awesome. creamy and smooth too, light to drink on but with some body from the wheat. simple beer really, but expertly built and executed, very professional overall. i really dug this, its surprisingly great!
