Copenhagen 13/4-2021. 47,3 cl can from Ølkassen web-shop. Elegant black can with thin vertical lines falling like drapes and indicating a treelike. A small insect in white. Pretty cool design.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a dark, sweet odor mingling with prominent coffee notes. Brown sugar and molasses. Cocoa. Lightly roasted dark malts. Coffee in abundance.
Light carbonation. Thick, viscous, smooth, soft, silken, fat, creamy texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable bitter undertone. Lingering. Finish is fairly dry with a light boozy burn.
Powerful, smooth and potent coffee boozer.

A 473ml can with a FAB (fabrication?) date of August 2018. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with a half finger mocha brown head that dissipated fairly quickly and left only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Strong coffee, roasted malts, cocoa and maybe a hint of liquorice.
Taste: Roasted malts, coffee, milk chocolate and a lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Good strong coffee and rich milk chocolate flavours make this very easy and nice to drink sipper. I preferred this base version slightly more than the Maple version.
