Previously named mushroom sip, same beer though, schwarz with mushrooms. Not a big fan of mushrooms, but I already know I like this beer.
Pours a finger of light brown head into a tulip. Pretty pillowy. Retention is decent, head fades after a minute or two, leaving a little film. Good initial lacing. Body is completely black. Not bad so far.
Nose is bitter chocolate, roasted malt, mushroom, mineral. I don't love the mushroom, but I've gotten used to it, if there were a beer to put shrooms in, it'd be a dark one. All things aside, good nose.
Taste has a little shroom, but it's very subtle. Roasted malt is on display in perfect proportion, flavorful, but not overpowering. A touch of bitter chocolate in the finish. Very tasty brew.
Feel is perfect. Carbonation is on the higher side. Body is light, but not paper thin. Dry throughout, finishes with a small and appropriate bitterness.
Drinkability is also perfect. It's very light in alcohol, not filling, and very flavorful.
The appearance turned out pretty good. Lacing was pretty full for the most part.
Overall I could probably do without the shrooms, but at its core it is a great schwarz with an impeccable mouthfeel.
