Taster at taproom. Pale golden, patchy head. Not getting much better. This is also weak and bland. Devoid of aroma and papery taste. Bone dry. Not even creamy...

500ml bottle

A pretty aggressive pour yields only about a half finger of white head into my tulip (in hindsight it should have gone into something different). The body is a light pale yellow, with a large amount of bubbles coming up, almost completely transparent. Not the body I look for in an ale, but it's more of a hybrid style. However, not the head I look for in any beer, faded fast, and seemed soapy.

Been a while since I've had a cream ale, I know what they are supposed to taste like, however I can't say I know what separates a good one from a great one. Pretty dry on the nose, a touch of grassy hops, and some "creamy" DMS. Some light lager-esque sugars. Not an amazing aroma, but, it's on style. It smells fine.

Very dry up front. Slightly bitter throughout the palate, not a lot, but it's at least easily noticeable. Finishes pretty dry, with an adjuncty character. DMS is briefly noticeable in the middle of the palate. It was hard to put my finger on the creamy aroma/taste at first, but when I thought about it for a second it was clearly DMS. Overall this is good, it's very dry and crisp, and apparently DMS is acceptable here. I appreciate the aggressive (for the style) hop profile. I personally don't mind the DMS, but BJCP should figure out what they consider "off flavors" as some are often dual purpose.

The mouthfeel is ok. Started out moderately carbonated, but has dropped off noticeably within 20 minutes. Body is light. Feel is dry, as mentioned a million times already. Not bad, but the carbonation hurts this.

Drinkability is very high, it's a super light beer with little to no objecting characteristics.

Not too stoked on the way the appearance turned out. Lacing was basically non existent, head was not good either. This might be more acceptable in this style, but there are plenty of lagers and hybrids that don't have this problem. Nobody is going to complain about good lacing, even if they aren't expecting it.

Overall this is a pretty simple beer. Noticeably dry and pretty bitter, DMS isn't a problem for me either. The carbonation fell off, and is probably the most across the board, agreeable flaw. Overall it's a nice session beer.
