Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a little dash of haze and not much apparent effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam, though. Not too shabby.

Smell: lightly sweet malt with just a hint of toastiness and a mild grassy hop character. It's clean and crisp; I think it's quite good for the style.

Taste: a bit hoppier than the aroma, and a bit toastier as well. There's a bit of a floral character here, almost like a pale ale, and the bitterness is relatively high as well. Not bad, but not as smooth and crisp as the aroma.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: not a bad Pilsner, but the flavor has some lack of balance or something that doesn't work well for me.

12oz can

Pours two fingers of fluffy white head into my Boston Lager glass, a little soapy as well. Retention is immaculate after a few minutes, not losing anything. Would assume lacing will follow suit. Body is pale yellow, crystal clear, with loads of bubbles coming up. Looks really nice so far.

Really nice notes of spicy noble hops, more pronounced than normal. Light touch of bread, touch of sweetness, maybe a little bit mineral as well. Lovely nose.

Flavor is more how I remember it being out of the can. Hops don’t come through nearly as hard, or hardly at all, maybe a little lemon. This almost corn like sweetness hits in the middle of the palate, a little gross. The sweetness almost reminds me of apple juice, definitely not any infections though. Finishes with a rough, almost stale grain flavor, extract-like, maybe a little bit oxidized. Perhaps some dms. These might be subtle to the average drinker, but (cocky comment incoming) pretty obvious to me, pilsners are after all, about subtle flavors. Overall, ok if you don’t think about it, pay attention and you’ll for sure want to pass.

Carbonation is medium, but seems to be fading quickly, probably from nucleation. Body is on the lighter side. Aforementioned the sweetness is a pretty big deal here. Bitterness is average for a pilsner. Overall, the sweetness kills it.

Drinkability is ok, but this doesn’t taste particularly good.

Appearance turned out pretty good. The head started taking hits when I agitated it, but overall it was really nice, and the lacing was solid as well.

I’ve had this now from the can and the glass, and while I had slightly different complaints both times, I can certainly say this is a hard no for me.
