Fresh bottle poured into a belgian glass. The color is pitch black with a light tan head, swirly lacing in the center. Nose wise we get sour earth, peat, and pumpkin, with some roasted coffee and cacao. When tasting I get the same, with a evolution beginning with bitter coffee transitioning to toffee and caramelized pumpkin, ending on burnt pumpkin seeds with a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel is great, very crisp and dry, not silky but full, albeit a touch thin for most porters or stouts.
Great pumpkin porter, and although I have had better, this is a uncommon style that I always buy on sight nonetheless.
