taster at brewery 5/20/16. these are notes I emailed to myself. owner calls this a black IPA; this category is closest I could find. Definitely has as many stout qualities as IPA and was brewed for American Craft Beer Week in conjunction with the #biggestsmallbeerever effort.
L: nice head 2F, good retention and lacing. very dark.
S: roasted malts, light coffee, and cocoa. not strong
T: mostly roasted oats and caramel malts, coffee, cocoa. quick to finish and dry
F: light to med body, light carb. crisp and refreshing. good balance and construction
O: Something different and interesting. A very nice effort from a brand-new brewery, as I was there on only their second day of being open to the public.
