On-tap @ Twin Elephant Brewing Co. in Chatham, NJ.
Medium amber in color with a small white head. Slightly hazy body.
Aroma is very mild but there's mostly caramel with fresh bread and grains. Earthy hops combine well. Very mild flavor to match the aroma. Balance is more towards the malt, but the flavors are very subtle.
Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. An inoffensive, easy to drink brew but lacking a little bit of character.

a: this is a murky mixture of light brown/ruby red, and dark caramel. head poured 1/2 finger off-white, but has reduced to a thin film as i'm typing
s: caramel, tons of fresh bready dough, sweet berries, brown sugar, and toffee. there is a nice earthy hop note in the background as well that works well to prevent it from smelling too sweet
t: sticky toffee, caramel, and a huge bready malt flavor up front. there is a nice sweet berry flavor in there as well as a crisp earthy hop presence. there is also just a hint of some sweet, darker fruit..almost raisin-like...almost (but not as dark). the finish is sweet and malty with more of that bready presence
m: medium to heavy mouthfeel, with lower carbonation and a sticky presence in the mouth
o: awesome beer. it's not as crisp as some Bitters that I've had, but it makes excellent use of sweet malts without being overbearing on that front. it's a touch heavier than you'd expect, but nothing that is too adverse. well done
