Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It's color is almost ink black with a thin, khaki-colored head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin, creamy sheen of lacing. Its nose features fresh black coffee, char, tobacco smoke, and a faint aroma of fresh cherry. When first sipped, the taste includes roasted malt, smoke, and char with burnt coffee grounds and some subtle chocolate. Then, the cherry emerges - nice and tart. As the glass warms, the cherry becomes sweeter but it's not cloying. There's a really nice balance between the smoky char and the cherry. I agree with the brewery's assessment that it's like drinking a chocolate-dipped cherry. This stout is rather thin in body with moderate creaminess, and its more carbonated than most stouts I've had. It's an easy drinker at 5.8% ABV. Overall, Collecting Moonbeams is one of the tastiest cherry stouts I've drank recently. It's a shame it's served so cold at the brewery. When you let the glass warm, it's really tasty.

A: matte jet black color with a real pretty, thin tan head
S: roasted malts, cherry pits, milk chocolate, and a nice woody note. Some brown sugar as well
T: roasted malts, oak, and some bitterness from the roast. Sweet malts and sugar followed by a light cherry tartness. The finish is like a cherry cola
M: lighter side of medium with higher carbonation
O: reminds me very much of a cherry soda, but with a nice roasty aspect
