On-tap @ Twin Elephant Brewing Co. in Chatham, NJ.

Deep brown color and a slightly cloudy. Small tan head. Roasted malt, caramel and cola aroma and flavor. Balance is towards the malt and it finishes on the sweeter side. Medium-light bodied, it was a little thin but not too much so.

I'm glad they kept this as a straightforward brown ale and resisted the urge to add other junk to it. Some nice malt flavors in this one.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a cloudy, nut brown with cola and orange hues. The thin, medium mocha-colored head faded quickly leaving a thin coating of lacing inside the glass. The nose features freshly-brewed coffee, roasted malt, cola, smoke, and nuts, and it became more bold as the glass warmed. The taste is coffee and nut forward with notes of chocolate, cola, and burnt peat. It's surprisingly - and pleasantly - bitter. In fact, it leaves a decidedly bitter after taste. The feel is rather thin with lively carbonation for a Brown Ale. At 6.2% it's very easy to drink. Overall, So Legit is aptly named; it's a nice nutty, bitter Brown Ale without any gimmicks. A second pour is a must.

A: murky mixture of light brown and dark dark purple. Nice tan 1/2 finger head on top

S: roasted malts, grass, and hazelnut. Sweet caramel and huge bready notes follow. A hint of cocoa as well. real nice fall-smelling

T: sweet caramel and earthy grains upfront. Hazelnut and light toffee behind that. A touch of earthy hops. Finish is sweet caramel and nuts

M: light mouthfeel with high carbonation. Mouthfeel is a little light though

O: well done American Brown Ale here. A bit light in the mouth , but it’s smooth and sweet
