A: clear, muted burnt orange color with a thin white head
S: bready malts, grass, sweet grains, sweet lemon zest, lemongrass, and a little floral note
T: lemongrass, sweet grains, grass, caramel, and subtle pepper upfront. A hint of berry behind that with a slightly herbal lager spice. Clean grainy earthy notes with a large bready malty backbone as well
M: lighter side of medium with medium carbonation
O: an alright style example and a nice lager. Would like a touch more crispness out of the earthy hops in here, but nothing to complain about in here

On-tap @ Twin Elephant Brewing Co. in Chatham, NJ.
Pours pale gold with a small white head. Hazy body. Good head retention.
Smells grainy and bready with some earthy hops for balance. Deep malt flavor, light toasted malt, light bitterness. Extremely dry in the finish. There's a bit of SO2 or DMS character to it as well, which isn't a knock on the beer nor is it totally out of line for the style.
Looks like a kellerbier, drinks like a heavier adjunct lager. I liked it but didn't feel the need to order a second one. That said, I'd love to see Twin Elephant home in on these types of beers a little bit more.
