Pint on draught at the brewery. I'm not a big fan of Meads but enough folks have commented on this hybrid that I wanted to try it. It pours a hazy, golden-orange color with minimal head and lacing. It smells just like lemonade. There is no hop presence on the nose. The taste is just as advertised; like lemonade mixed with honey. It's very sweet - almost cloying. At mid-sip there are subtle cracker notes which isn't surprising but I had almost forgotten that it's a Kolsch. There is no bitterness. It has a viscous, oily, mouthfeel with little carbonation, and the 5% ABV poses no impediment to drinking, although the sweetness is a little hard to take. Overall, this beer is hard to review. On the one hand it's too sweet for my liking. On the other hand I suspect it achieves what the brewer intended. If you like Meads, then you should enjoy I'll Bee Dat. Other folks at the brewery did and had second pours. I commend Twin Elephant for being adventuresome enough to brew it.

A: stray yellow color with some chill haze. 1/2 finger off-white head that fades very quick
S: lemon juice, honey, sweet limes and grains. Oranges and a little mud of medicine
T: sweet grains, and a huge punch of lemon juice, orange soda, and sugar. This tastes like carbonated lemonade and orange soda. Not too much Kolsch flavors in here
M: medium mouthfeel with high carbonation
O: way heavy on the lemons. More like lemonade and soda than a Kolsch
