a: dark dark ruby red color with some light purple. significant chill haze. pours a 2 finger rocky light tan head. really nice look
s: loads of caramel and toffee. a distinct spice and some cardboardy notes (not a bad thing). generic Noble hops kiss the back of this as well. loads of fresh dough as the backbone
t: big punch of toffee and caramel upfront. some sugary sweetness behind that along with some generic Noble hop notes to balance the initial sweetness. faint berry note then a bit of earthiness. big doughy backbone with a touch more toffee
m: lighter side of medium with moderate carbonation
o: a nice little Altbier. Not as strong in the malt sweetness as some others, but it's very well balanced and hits all the notes.
