Single hopped with gobs of Citra that drives notes of candied citrus, Haribo grapefruit gummies, and peach jolly ranchers.

can to snifter.

LOOK: thick hazy yellow, big off-white sudsy head with excellent retention.
AROMA: light citrus, salty sea air, grass.
TASTE: citrus, with some tropical notes, lemon candy, guava.
FEEL: medium body, lively for the body, a little "dusty" in the finish.

Very nice. Love the homage to the old Melody Bar in New Brunswick. That place was very cool.

On draught at the brewery. It pours a murky, dirty pastel yellow color with a half finger of foamy, eggnog-colored had and spotty lacing. It has a fragrant nose featuring lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, and notes of sweet tropical fruit. The taste opens with the expected tart citrus but it's balanced by a pleasant creamy sweetness. I don't know whether oats were used but the flavors are very complimentary. There's a bit of hop burn at the finish that should dissipate over time. The Citra hops really shine. What a mouth feel! It's luxuriously thick and creamy with moderate carbonation, and it's very drinkable for the 10% ABV. Overall, there's a lot to like about Melody Bar: lovely smell, well-balanced flavor, and killer mouth feel. The only thing holding it back is the astringency. I'll try it again in a week or two and may adjust my rating accordingly.
