Pint pour on draught at the brewery. This is a very unique beer. For an IPA, it pours an unusual dark cranberry-ruby color with two full fingers of creamy, light magenta colored had and thick, clinging lacing. It's an unusual but very attractive appearance. It has a very fragrant nose featuring coconut milk, graham cracker, and sweet stone fruit. The taste is also very unique. It opens with strong notes of graham cracker and coconut, with hints of caramel and perhaps dark chocolate. The Ube is tangy and not overly sweet and adds a slightly nutty, vanilla taste. There is almost no hop bitterness. Its mouth feel is classic for a Milkshake Stout. It's very thick and plush with moderate carbonation. And the 8.5% ABV is noticeably warming. Overall, this sour berry IPA is certainly out of the ordinary. It's hard to rate. Notwithstanding my relatively high rating, this is not an IPA that I'd drink regularly. Sometimes the whole exceeds the sum of the parts. This is the opposite.
