Hazy gold pour with a nice, fluffy white cap. Interesting nose vs taste set up--the nose has a sweet tropical fruit vibe, yet the taste is decidedly West Coast pine. There's not a lot of complexity but I do give credit for a flavorful consistency from top of the glass to bottom. Really nice classic Ebbets Field can art, but the West Coast flavor makes you yearn for a Dodger dog at Chavez Ravine.

First review of this collaboration between Twin Elephant and Around the Horn Brewing Company. Reviewed less than 2 weeks after release. Poured into a Twin Elephant pint glass. It pours a cloudy, grassy yellow color with a big, fluffy, bright white cap and thick, sudsy lacing. It's highly effervescent with myriad tiny bubbles ascending the glass. The nose is rather subdued but offers the classic lemon peel and grapefruit rind. As expected the taste offers citrus but it doesn't have the sharp bite I'd expect. This may be the first West Coast IPA I've had that features Strata hops which give it a dry, weedy taste. Also, the grist of White Wheat Pilsner is rather thin and doesn't provide much of a backbone. The Simcoe hops provide redemptive clean bitterness. The mouth feel is very lite and clean and it drinks easily for 7.2% ABV. Overall, this West Coast IPA lacks bitter citrus focus. I'm just not crazy about the dominance of the Strata in this ale. I will say that the can art is great. Long live Ebbets Field!
