Not a fan, had a metallic undertone to it at the expense of juiciness. DIPAs never really work for me, this one is no exception.
I choose flavor over bitey booziness.

From a 16oz can with no obvious canning date. Pours an amber/straw gold color and densely hazed. Can label notes the use of Pilsner White Wheat 2-Row, and English Ale Yeast. Pleasant nose and palate, but surprisingly bitter finish with some heat from the 8.7 abv.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It's a very pretty pint: A murky, dense, dirty tangerine color with a 2 full finger fluffy, eggnog-colored cap and thick, swirling lacing. The aromatic smell offers ripe melon, pineapple, lemon, and vanilla cream. Its taste opens with tart lemon and grapefruit rind balanced by pineapple, peach, and creamy, oaty sweetness. At mid palate it turns grassy and herbal and there is considerable biting bitterness at the finish. In fact, it was a bit green with a noticeable hop burn. The mouth feel is plush and creamy with appropriate carbonation, and the 8.7% ABV is noticeable. Overall, this is a fine collaboration between two accomplished brewers. I'm hoping to revisit when it settles a bit. Without the burn at the finish it could be really special.
