Can to tulip glass, while watching World Series Game 1, Cubs@Indians.
LOOK: beautiful mahogony, medium eggshell head.
AROMA: grape, light apple, grass.
TASTE: Barley,wood, weird taste late-something pasty/gluey.
FEEL: touch of siltiness. Full body.
This is my first Dark City beer; not terribly disappointed as this is pretty smooth....but something is missing.

Poured from 16 oz. can into tulip glass. It pours a dark, ruby brown color with one finger of ecru-colored head and lacing with good retention. It smells of caramel, vanilla, cherry, and faint hops, The smell is rather subdued for a barleywine. I was put off by the taste: very bitter for 36 IBU's and somewhat sour. Not at all what I expected.. It is medium-bodied, moderately carbonated, and you can really feel the 9.6% ABV. I bought this as a single and I may have gotten a bad can but I wouldn't purchase it again.
