16 oz can poured into a snifter.
Appearance
Black. 1 finger of fizzy deep brown head. No light penetration.
Nose
Chocolate syrup, brownie, dark chocolate, oak, vanilla, toffee, caramel, licorice, prune, and sawdust.
Taste
Loads of charred oak and sawdust. Dark chocolate syrup, brownie batter, toffee, and caramel. Black licorice, prune, and fig. Light Bourbon and vanilla. Earth and charcoal finish.
Mouthfeel
Medium-plus bodied, chewy, silky, oily, bitter, and warming.
Overall
It takes the overall presence of a BBA Imperial Stout. Complex, warming, and hides the 13% abv well.
