A highly fruited Belgian Quad fermented with sake yeast, this 11% behemoth is packaged in 22oz bombers and represents the celebration spring and the bounty it brings. Willow Rock and Stout Beard drew inspiration from the accord between Tokyo and Washington, DC that is celebrated today with the blossoming of the spring cherry trees.

Decanted into a tulip pint; no production date on label.
A: Pours a cloudy brown with minimal head formation, yeast in evidence. Head consists largely of a tan rim with no Belgian lacing or legs.
S: Medium to dark malts with clear apple, cherry, biscuit, molasses, and rum aromas.
T: The combination of the quad with apple, some cherry, and cinnamon notes is reminiscent of a liquid apple-cinnamon roll.
M: Full bodied with a fullness or grittiness in the mouth consistent with yeast laden version the quad style.
O: Interesting, and like other examples of the style, not for everyday, but very enjoyable.
Came back on 11/12/17 and gave this a second try: had refrigerated it during the interval.
A: Pours a cloudy brown with about a quarter inch head, rapidly resolving to a rim
S: Tart nose with aromas of red delicious apple and cherry, biscuit, molasses, and rum.
T: The combination of the quad with apple, some cherry, and cinnamon notes continue to like it reminiscent of an cherry/apple-cinnamon roll.
M: Full bodied with less grittiness in the mouth probably from settling in the bottle.
O: Still like it and like the innovative spirit. Would have or serve this for breakfast.
