Auburn appearance with some head and the right amount of carbonation. Seems to be a watered down version of mighty 88. For IPA lovers it does not have a hoppy taste.

Poured into a pint glass. Hazy yellow amber color with a thick and frothy white head. Muted aromas of citrus, earthy hops, and spicy rye malt. The taste followed closely, with a bitter grapefruit at the front followed by the earthy and piney notes. A big rye malt backbone. Good, but average for this type of beer.

On tap at Kohola Brewery in Lahaina, HI.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and rye aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, earth, and grape Tootsie Pop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with solid aromas, but the grape Tootsie Pop flavor is a bit odd.

Serving type: on tap.
