On tap at Kohola Brewing
A: Pours dark brown to black with a frothy khaki head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Good and roasty, nice hit of coffee, a little chocolate, a bit earthy, and some toffee sweetness.
T: Roasty, smooth coffee, dark chocolate, a touch of smoke, earthy, faint herbal notes, and toffee sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy.
O: Had to try it because of the Maui coffee. Good coffee stout, but could use a little tweaking.

On tap at the brewery in Lahaina.
Dark dark brown / mahogany. 1/4" tan head long retention as a cap. Nice lacing.
Ash tray - tobacco aroma. Smoke. Dark Roasted malts. Coffee isn't super apparent in the aroma. Maybe a little cafe au lait.
Coffee is up front in the taste. Smoky/slight burnt malts. Sweet cream flavor but doesn't finish so.
Medium body. Would assume a little fuller body from this beer.
Overall enjoyable but A little big on a hot sweaty day in Maui.

Dark appearance that is a little thin with tan head that dedicates quickly and little carbonation. Coffee aroma is mild. Coffee taste is stronger than aroma.

Enjoyed in a pint glass on draft.
Pour is midnight black with a nice chocolate colored head.
Smell is big on bitter chocolate and coffee.
Taste is vanilla, chocolate, lactose, and coffee bean.
Feel is very nice. Medium bodied and very little carbonation.
Overall an excellent offering from Kohola!

32 ounce crowler, a friend of mine brought this back for me from Hawaii and brought it over yesterday. I believe it was filled about a week and a half ago, no more than 2 weeks. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head that stuck around for a long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like coffee, roasted malt, and bittersweet chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a bit of caramel noticeable too. The aroma and flavor are mostly coffee/roasty, with a hint of sweetness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a little creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good coffee stout, if I ever go to Maui I'll have to try this one at the brewery. My buddy said it was pretty good fresh! Definitely worth trying.
