I made many trips to Flatlanders, the brewpub previously in this location, so I knew I would have to visit the successor at some point. A cat-sitting job allowed for such an opportunity. The space and general vibe is pretty much the same as before, though the central bar area is now a bit more open feeling, as the bar now sticks out deeper into the dining area, though now one can see through it (rather than have it as a monolith on one end of the room). The décor is a mixture of brick, metal, and general steakhouse, creating an inviting atmosphere. The tap list when I visited was pretty decent with regard to the house brews, and there were quite a few additional guest taps to round things out. Gotta love the ability to get various sizes, even if the selection is a guest brew. The service was amiable and pretty quick, and I didn't really have any questions about the beer, so I can't speak to knowledgeability. The house beers are mostly pretty tasty and well-made. For once, I actually had some food, the Serious Bacon Cheeseburger to be exact, and it was damn tasty, especially with the bacon jam topping it. Overall, this place is more than a worthy successor to Flatlanders, and I look forward to future visits (once things normalize a bit, of course).

Large restaurant, crowded. We ate in the large dinning area by fire place. A musician was playing in bar, food was good, burger was great. they had a selection of several ales. My favorite was there Imperial Stout with Coffee called "Warrior Paint". It's an eater first then beers are made to pair with the food. Service was a tad slow.

An upgrade to the old Flatlanders joint, made over with a fresh new look. Very inviting and spacious. Big open bar area with loads of tables and TVs and then a separate dining area. Robust selection of drafts, including 6-8 house made. The sampler gets you four tastes of any of the house beers. Nice spectrum of beers. Creative menu, enjoyed the wings, pretzels, and sandwiches. The chips are a house specialty and there are pizzas too. Worth a visit if you are in the north suburbs.

There is a decent selection of beer on tap and in bottles/cans. Service is generally good and the food is pretty decent. Their own beer is nothing special. If you like watching sports, make sure you get there early or you are likely to be sitting behind a pole. Just like Wrigley Field.
