12oz can, 8/25 expiration
Seems like Italians list an expiration date over a year after they can, which is very misleading and means you basically can’t trust any beer with an expiration date of the current calendar year because they don’t post the actual canning date to cross-reference. Consumed in July ‘24, this should be fresh enough.
Pours a little over a finger of white head into a snifter. Retention is average and the head fades in a couple minutes, leaving a nice film. Lacing is poor but I think that’s the glass. Body is light yellow, slightly cloudy. Looks ok.
Nose definitely has a soft juicy undertone, pineapple, papaya, and a massive dose of tangerine. Creamy, perhaps some oats. Has a touch of candi sweetness, but honestly feels lighter than most in the style, doesn’t seem like a full blown hazy. Maybe a touch of oxidation. Pretty unique aroma with that big tangerine presence.
Flavor is very odd, you get some of that tangerine, some oats, but it’s actually somewhat bland, especially considering the style.
Carbonation is medium. A solid little body, also medium. Bitterness is medium, and lingers for a second. Not very sweet at all. Overall the mouthfeel is decent.
While it’s a little bitter, and slightly dry on the palate, it’s not hard to drink.
Overall fine, but definitely not to the level one would expect from an American version.

Fruit and Huicy Ipa from 6.7% with local peaches (province of Cuneo, famous for its crops)
33 cl can, bought at the old 8 and now closed, but never forgotten) Jack's Pub in Acilia (from "Otis") for € 4.50.
On the nose immediately fruity notes and a fragrant herbaceous, petals.
When poured it shows a nice abundant foam, but with little structure that takes little to reduce.
More citrus and herbaceous notes emerge on the nose.
Very smooth beer in the mouth, albeit with a body that I would define medium.
Lively carbonation, maybe even a bit too much.
Quite short taste of yellow peach and apricot that fade into notes of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) before a more impressive bitter finish characterized by a notable citrus fruit (grapefruit) and a final bitter herbaceous note that also remains a little on the tongue after drinking.
If I did not know about the use of fruit I would probably say that it would be all the merit of the hops, as the initial fruity part is quite dominated by the nice bitter finish, more attributable in my opinion to that of an American Ipa, rather than to a Fruit and Juicy.
