On tap at the brewery to a tulip glass. Reviewed from notes dated May 25, 2017.
A-The beer is light golden-yellow colored with a light chill haze. A finger of white foam fades to a film that hangs around the top of the glass for a while as I sip. There is a stray bit of lacing and a few bubbles of carbonation to be seen.
S-The aroma is kind of boring with hints of citrus (lemon and lime), bread, and toffee caramalt notes. There is nothing off about it, but it doesn't draw me in for more.
T-The taste, like the smell, is fine, but not terribly unique or inviting. A vague bitterness gives way to a little bit of juicy citrus flavor, but the orange, grapefruit, and lime notes fade quickly to a dull, dry bitter flavor on the finish. The beer is not all hopes and a bit of toffee and caramel keep the balance, but there isn't much to get excited about.
M-The body is a bit lighter than average with a mild carbonation that leaves it a little watery feeling.
O-This is one of those IPAs that a brewery makes to have an IPA on the menu. It is of the old school style and it is not off or bad, but it is not great or unusual.
