On tap into a goblet glass at the brewery. Reviewed from notes dated May 24, 2017.
A-The beer is a nice-looking light-amber color. It is almost perfectly clear with just a slight chill haze to obscure my view. A few streams of carbonation support a thin collar of white foam, but there is no head on my pour.
S-I smell a nice malted barley flavor, a light toffee sweetness, and some yeasty bread dough. A little rye-like spice breaks up the malt and yeast notes nicely. It is clean and pleasant smelling.
T-The taste is similar to the smell. Flavors of toast, bread dough, and grassy rye grain mix well on the palate with the light toffee sweetness. There is just enough flavor to keep the beer interesting without hurting drinkability.
M-The body is on the lighter side of average for the style. Carbonation is medium crisp and moderate in volume. Very drinkable.
O-This is a pretty damn good lager coming out of Pueblo. The month of May isn't really Marzen season, but I found this beer to be pretty enjoyable even if the flavors are more suited to fall drinking weather.
