On tap:
Pours very hazy, close to cloudy. Color is dirty yellow, maybe a hint of orange. Head is light, lasts for a little, ends in a medium rim.
Nose isn't coming to me easily. Seems a little like sweet grain and melon with a hint of citrus. The strength is so light I am not confident in these notes.
Taste starts a tad fruity sweet without a distinct fruit flavor. By mid taste there is a distinct tartness to the flavor, peach or orange. This gives a little impression of pineapple when combined with the sweet opening. A pithy to citrus rind bitterness balances this enough to be in the APA range. I get a decent amount of bitterness, so I feel this needs a little less sweetness more than higher IBUs.
Decent medium, or maybe a little more than medium. Bubbles are a tad aggressive, adding to the light feel of heat I am getting mid-taste. Bitterness gets a little stronger with warmth and builds up a tad on the tongue.
This beer did turn towards an IPA as it warmed. Not sure if it was the extended exposure to the hops or the warmth itself. Still a little more "sweet" in the beginning bersus the cleaner openings I like I my IPAs, but it ended up less detracting than it started. Still feel there is room for improvement on this one.
