16 oz. pint served in a standard American pint glass at the brewery 1-10-25
L: traditions black-and-tan look with the liquid showing signs of amber and clarity around the edges; small head from a careful pour by the barkeep; minimal sticking and lacing; all around a proper looking stout
S: roasted malt, light sweetness, hints of cacao and dark chocolate
T: follows the nose with a bit more earthiness, hints of oak wood, very light sweetness but enough to help balance the darker/earthier notes; the roasted malt flavor is the highlight
F: fantastic all around, relatively light carbonation with enough to keep it mildly crispy and a solid, silky mouthfeel that is a bit more than a dry stout but less than a big imperial stout
O: easy drinking beer for being 6% ABV (the brewery website advertises it as 4.3%, but the board at the brewery today said 6%); it's neither really sweet nor overly earthy, kind of riding that balance between the two that paired well with the cooler weather today and lunch (dry rub chicken wings served at the taproom)
