Pours black with a finger of khaki foam that turns to a more large, oily bubble mash. Aroma is nutty, earthy, roasty and toasty malts with chocolate and strawberry. Flavor profile is much more rich and modestly more sweet, hitting notes of chocolate, strawberry, raspberry and toffee with roasty, toasty, and nutty earthy malts behind. There is a twist of lactose in the mix, but not much. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a lightly silty texture. Overall, dessert like, but not in a cloyingly sweet way.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.

L: Had this beer on-tap at Goat Island Bottle Shop, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A decent aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, strawberries, hops, and a creamy quality,.

T: Tasted of a small amount of hops (mostly in the finish), a decent amount of the creamy quality, lots of roasted malt (present throughout), and some chocolate (could've used more). A solid flavor that gets better as you go along. The strawberries really stand out here, and dominate the taste after awhile. Tasty.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth, dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A rock solid stout. Worth a look.
