This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like coconut cream, chocolate fudge, light cinnamon, light spice, molasses, and a touch of bourbon.
This is really quite excellent - it's a really well done, decadent, and not too sweet Mexican pastry stout. The coconut is a solid choice to tack on to the usual chili peppers/cinnamon/chocolate template/modelo. That expected framework is done very well here, with just enough pepper and cinnamon spice to make a mark, but not dominate things. It's definitely sweet, but I never found it cloying. There's not a ton of barrel here, unfortunately - that's the only knock.
This is thick and creamy, and just a bit syrupy, with no booziness at all, and a surprising level of drinkability.
This is a truly wonderful surprise. It's top tier.
