My second Bushwakker beer of the day. After the Regina Pale Ale, this definately has more flavour, but you'd expect that from a beer with a higher ABV. I bought a bottle and I'm drinking it in my motel room but I'd love to have had a pint on draft. From the bottle it pours a dark amber with a nice looking head. I'm not getting much aroma on this one either so I now think I have a dodgy nose. The taste is malty, slightly sweet with a hint of bitter caramel and then you get the bitter, but not over powering. I think they've nailed it. This is what I've always imagined old IPA to taste like.

Bottle: thanks Kris

Poured a deep amber-orange into the glass thick, sticky 2 finger cap with great retention and lacing.

Aromas: Toffee, caramel, musty-earthy-cedar hop tones.

Profile: profuse caramel malts in front are instantly joined with a juicy citrus rush from the hops to balance....mid palate some toasty-treacle tones with spruce hops and some tart fruity notes...the finish is lingering and drying with the citrus-pine bittering ripping loose from the rich caramel malts.

Lush juicy mouth feel, creamy caramel malts, good dose of hops, satisfying and drinkable a perfect session IPA....This is a keeper!

Bottled sample. Amber in colour with a slight caramel tinge. Slightly lower than average carbonation. Strong caramel and toffee nose with a hint of earthy hops on the tail end. Caramel malts are the up-front flavor with some trailing notes of more bready malts and a mild nut quality. I also noted a touch of the lactic quality. Light bitterness, but a fairly hefty body. Could use a bit more bitterness and finishing hop presence, but this is some very solid stuff... very easy to drink. Thanks rudge75.

Pint glass on tap at Bushwakkers.

Red-amber and clear with a tight beige cap.

Aroma is strongly of hops and lightly sweet.

Taste is mostly piney citrus hops throughout. Light sweet malt in the background. Bitter finish and a bitter finish aftertaste.

Medium bodied and moderately carbonated.

This is a really pleasing IPA that isn't too agressive and nicely balanced, but still strongly hop-bitter.

Review done from notes.

750 ml bottle brought back from visit to Regina. Deep gold with orange hilights, slightlyoff white foam. Lots of small suspended particles in this unfiltered, unpasteurized beer. Lots of hoppy aroma of pine and citrus. Taste is very hoppy, and could taste some spiciness too. Lots of IBUs, but more of an earthy bitterness, as opposed to the sharp graipfruit flavor in some other IPAs. Leaves a sting on your tongue, but mouthfeel is not overly heavy or oily. If you like bitter hops, you'll enjoy this one.

Dark gold with a nice head of eggshell white foam. Aromas are hoppier than the pale ale, heavy on certain UK and possibly US varietals. Taste is hoppy as well, but there is still a nice maltiness as well. Citrusy pine flavors are subtle, but this is not a killer west coast IPA, this is a British styled easy drinker. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, drinkability is good. Another solid session brew.

Has a nice copper appearance with a strong ivory coloured head that lasts.

Has a light hop aroma.

Moderate carbonation, with a silky mouth.

Starts off on the palate with a malt flavour and finishes with a nice hoppy taste, both bitter and floral. 55 IBU
