Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. This is my first beer from Saskatchewan.
The beer pours a brown color with a tan head. The aroma is pretty much full of chocolate and roasted malt, as a porter should be. The flavor is more of the same, with some caramel, chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of brown sugar. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Update 7/29/2011:
A friend of mine picked up a fresh bottle, and this is a good all-around brew. A very nice robust porter that didn't seem thin at all. All the flavours are there (a bit less grainy), but more prominent and well-integrated. Good stuff.
Original review from 9/29/2009:
A=4: Brown-black with a light tan head, some retention & lace.
S=3.5: Grainy, chocolate, brown sugar & molasses.
T=3.5: Grainy, chocolate, nut, spice, light molasses and bitterness.
M=3.5: Light to moderate body seems a little thin.
D=3: Alright, but not overly enticing.

Viggo shared this one. thanks eric!
22oz bottle topped with gold foil. sampled may 1/09.
pours deep brown, nearly black, with a small dense dark tan head. the head drops slowly and leaves plenty of lace behind.
aroma is nice. dark and milk chocolate. coffee. touch of lactic character. toasted multi-grain bread and biscuit. touch of alcohol. earthy and woody.
taste is ok. medium bitterness level. dark chocolate. bit of espresso. light sour lactic character. over-toasted whole wheat bread. bit of biscuit. light alcohol. earthy and a bit woody.
mouthfeel is ok. meidum-light body feels a bit thin. just over medium carbonation level.
drinkability is ok. a little thin, a little sour, a little out of balance. passable in a pinch, but not something i'd really go looking for. perhaps this bottle is a bit off?

22 oz bottle, big thanks to markabberant for sending my way.
Pours a clear very dark red, almost appears brown away from the light, but some nice ruby highlights in the edges, medium sized tan head forms, settles down to a thin layer and ring, some lace spots on the glass. Smell is nice, very malty, caramel, raisins and brown sugar, light toast, some roasted malt and chocolate, grainy, lightly fruity, more of an English style than American porter but quite nice. Taste is similar, sweet and malty, some caramel and biscuit, very toasty, oats, brown sugar sweetness, raisins, lightly fruity, strawberries, nice finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low to medium carbonation, smooth and drinkable. Not overly complex but a pretty solid English porter. Thanks Mark!

A nice looking porter. Pours an opaque brownish black, with a nice pale tan head. Mildly carbonated, but displays decent head retention. Nice lacings, tan coloured sheets disperse to leave sticky webs.
Creamy nougat , hazelnut, a touch of caramel, as well as a more roasted malt edge with notes of milk chocolate and espresso. A faint earthiness of decaying leaf from the hops.
Taste is much like the nose, with the exception of a touch of dark fruits, blackberry and black cherry are in the mix. Nice mild dark roast coffee flavour in the mix.
Creamy, smooth and almost medium bodied. Nougat and roasted notes play off each other well. This is one tasty and well balanced porter.
Pretty drinkable, the bomber is disappearing fairly quickly. This is a solid porter that I would readily recommend to fans of the style, and as an introduction to it. Sessionable, in the american sense of the word. Unfortunately i cant remember which BA sent this to me (markaberrant or DrMalt), but thanks!

Bottle: Poured a clear black color porter with a medium size foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry roasted notes with some very light coffee notes. Taste is also a mix between some light dry roasted malt notes with some light coffee but no black chocolate notes that I usually like in this style. Body is a bit thin with some average carbonation. Ok overall but a creamier body and more character would have greatly benefited this beer.

Shared bottle courtesy of piscator34. decent looking porter- nice and dark, nose has some roast and touch of chocolate. taste- moderate roasty bitterness, some dark chocolate. Carbonation is slight and body ligh. Easy drinking session porter. Nothing fancy about it, but does the trick.
