650ml bomber ( thanks Noxious)

Pour puts a very pale cloudy ale in my weiss glass. Decent puffy cap, retention not too good. Fair carbonating.

Nose is sweet, citrusy, some very light fruits, hints of spice, a bit of mustiness. No great wafts of bubble gum or bananas and cloves here, just light subtle impressions like earthy juicy fruit gum.

Medium-light bodied with a decent malt spine, tart dusty mouth feel from the wheat. A more mellow rounded character than its sharply defined European name sake.

Starts sweet and fluous with light spice notes ( some clove and cinnamon) then the palate drys out as a light citrusy decernment takes over leading to the finish which is semi dry and full of wonderful dry biscuit tastes which carry into an after taste.

Not a replica of the Bavarian Hefeweiss but a nice drinkable, rounded and malty Canadian version...I could session with this on tap any day.

650ml bottle poured in a weizen glass. Typical plain Bushwakker bottle with only the letters SW written on the cap to identify the contents.

Cloudy and pale yellow in colour. White head is dense and has tiny bubbles and is 1/4 inch on the pour, but recedes to a thin cap.

Aroma of spices and cloves with a hint of banana in the background.

There is a definite wheat quality to the flavour of this beer. Only a brief flash of the traditional hefeweizen flavour through the carbonation rush. Also has a real estery quality to the finish. Hints of spices throughout in the background and aftertaste.

Light-medium mouthfeel with lots of tiny pin pricks of carbonation. The wheat-ester quality makes it feel a little coarse in comparison to other hefe's I've had.

Nothing really spectacular in my books, but it's the only locally brewed Hefeweizen available. There is usually one brand available at the Sask Liquor Stores and would be your only option in Regina for this style. Not terrible, but there are much better beers available at Bushwakker's that I'd rather drink.

Served on tap with lunch at the brewpub, presented in Bushwakker pint glass, with a wedge of lemon. Yellowish (light straw) in color, cloudy like you expect from an unfiltered wheat. Short white head, but with good stablity and leaves some thin lace. The smell has some citrus, but there is also a clear banana aroma. The flavor has lots of citrus. Well balanced and refreshing. Light taste but still very complex. Very nice interpretation, so we had to buy a 2 litre bottle to take home.
