650ml bomber, fairly fresh ( Thanks Noxious)
Pour put a good looking amber-orange protien hazed lager in my stein. Frothy 2 finger off white cap with great retention which laces the glass well. Modest carbonation.
Nose is filled with sweet toasted garins, some caramel and light musty grass tones...very pungent as it warms.
Medium-heavy bodied. Thick malt backbone. great silken mouthfeel.
Starts with thick chewy malts creating an impression of liquid toasted muffins with light honey tones and some light citrus from the attenuated hops. Finish is wet, slightly sweet with massive breadyness and a light biscuit after taste....then mild warming from the extremely well hidden alcohol.
Although this breaks with style guidelines in that it is darker with Muich malt malodins, has a caramel taste and a marzen malt profile, it IS fine crafted bock more in the vein of a strong Oktoberfest Marzen than a Maibock....very malty, tastey and deeply satisfying. A top flight world class effort by this brewer.

650ml bottle poured in a pint glass.
Hazy and a nice orange-amber colour. Cream coloured head is 3/4 inch on the pour, but recedes to a solid 1/8" cap.
Aroma is malty, sweet, caramel with a hint of floral/herbal hops.
Flavour is really quite interesting and well balanced. This stuff goes down easy. Profile is pretty steady from start to finish: Malt and caramel with floral/herbal hops in just the right amount to make an appearance without being bitter. Aftertaste is malt/caramel... mmm. After half the glass, the alcohol starts to make itself known in the finish and aftertaste.
Very nice, creamy, smooth, full bodied mouthfeel. Mild pin pricks of carbonation.
Wow. This stuff is terrific. This is my first time trying this beer, and infact it isn't even listed on their website, or in their current menu. Found some info on it in an old menu I had kicking around. The drinkability would be a 5, but at 6.8% I imagine you couldn't knock back these things all night. I'm going to have to go back and see if they have it on tap, or if there's a couple bottles left. Otherwise it's wait until next May.
