A blend of our Stubblejumper Pilsener and our Last Mountain Lager. It is our interpretation of the soft, well balanced beers of the city of Dortmund, Germany.

A - golden with a slight orange hue, lots of carbonation, nice white head with excellent lacing.
S - fresh grain, sweet lemon, very enticing
T - excellent balance with malt and hops off the start to set things up, it gets a little sweeter mid-pallette, but then a dry biscuity finish wraps it all up.
M - soft and creamy for a lager, med body, well carbonated. Perfect for the style.
D - I'm not crazy about the style, but this is as good as it gets!
This was the Best of Show recipe from the 2007 ALES/AHA Qualifier Homebrew Competition, originally brewed by Chris Hillman of Winnipeg. I judged his excellent version, and I find that Bushwakker did an outstanding job as well.
Dortmunder is a very delicate style, but it is fantastic when fresh and done right. I usually get excited about more robust styles of beer, but when it's done right, there is nothing better than a great session beer. Congrats to Chris and Bushwakker on another fine brew!
