Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists mainly of deep caramel and toffee malt. Taste is also a mix between some medium sweet caramel malt with notes of toffee. Full body with limited filtration and good carbonation with no discernable alcohol. I would have like more banana ester but still very well done and easily quaffable.

A - I'm getting almost zero light through my glass (although it is a rather wide snifter), but I've had it at the brewpub and know it is a dark mahogany red. Tan coloured head, small but persisent, doesn't leave a lot of lace.
S - rich bready malt, sweet plums, hazelnut
T - loads of munich malt, extremely malty, sweetness is not overdone and very plum-like, finish brings in more of the hazelnut.
M - Full bodied without being cloying, medium- light carbonation brings this beer alive, alcohol is completely hidden.
D - Another of my Bushwakker favourites, superbly executed, and dangerously drinkable.
First released as a seasonal in Dec 06, the recipe was tweaked and another batch was unleashed on the public in May 08 (which is what I am reviewing). Please make this beer more regularly!
Very impressive attempt at a Doppelbock. Extremely clean, and the alcohol is nowhere to be found; some of my friends ordered this up and raved about it, yet they hate "strong" beer. I've even made the mistake of drinking 2 pints of these in one sitting, and then tried to get up from the table! A tough beer to brew well, kudos to Mitch and Jamie!!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
