Had on-tap in a straight-sided glass at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: extremely dark brown with no haze. Head is a thin layer of tan foam. Quite nice!

Smell: sweet, toffee-like notes, along with a big, astringent roasty quality. I like the combination.

Taste: very roasty right up front, with an acidic astringency and an almost ashy quality. Pretty darn roasty for a mild ale. I like it a lot.

Mouthfeel: light body with a decent carbonation. Per the style, the body is too light to be truly creamy, but there's enough going on here to maintain interest.

Overall: tasty and drinkable. It's hard to pack a lot of flavor into such a low-abv style, but Georgetown has done a great job here.
