A crisp, refreshing and balanced ale that is pale straw colored in appearance and topped with a soft white head. Light bitterness coincides with the delicate fruity and sweet flavors to create an appropriate balance upon first impression. The finish will give the sense of apparent, but subdued malt undertones that are complemented by aromas and flavors of floral spice from late addition noble hops.

Draft at Hops & Bottles. Clear golden pour, thin layer of white head. Bready aroma with lemon. Taste is grainy, biscuity with a light lemon snap at the finish. Really easy to drink, refreshing.

a light and easy drinking kolsch here, maybe not as fully authentically german as the best of them, in that i think its pretty identifiable as american made right off the bat, but its also true enough to style to fit the bill, and like all the beer these guys do, well made and satisfying enough for me. pretty clear from the tap with a delicate white head on it and lots of bubbles. smells a touch estery like pink gum to me, but its mellow, and the biscuity malt character and german yeast are also both evident. i like the flavor a lot, more character than the nose, and i am surprised by the hoppiness a little bit, this is not a style i usually think of in that context, but we have a neat earthy herbal noble character on the back end of this that definitely brings some bitterness into the equation too. i think its needed to help this be crisp and refreshing because its not super dry, the grain does have a little linger, and so the bitterness lets it finish a little quicker. good carbonation, clean palate, minimal body. simple beer really, but it definitely hits the mark on a hot day.
