Pours a murky brown with a brief one finger head. Aroma is lightly roasted malt. Taste is light, malty with a slight burnt character. Nuttiness is present but in the background. Mouthfeel is shy of moderate and low in carbonation. True to style.

A chestnut brown body with a lovely thick and frothy light beige head. Loads of lace.
Aroma is slightly nutty, caramel and milk chocolate. Nice.
Taste is similar to the aroma. Maybe a small bite of floral hop in the end. But very smooth, yet earthy. Has some real English style malts for me.
Lovely well balanced mouth feel. medium thick on the palate but with just enough carbonation to keep it fresh.
A beautiful; cold rainy-day beer and a good Brown Ale.

 

 

Hazy medium brown body with a nice pillowy head. Smell is roasty and sweet; burnt toffee, nuts, and milk chocolate. Taste is very roasty and nutty. Upfront toffee and caramel, then peanut brittle with notes of coffee and hops, then more nuts and a bit of chocolate on the finish. Medium bodied, wet in the mouth.
A delicious, roasted, nut filled treat.

Look: Chestnut brown with a sudsy beige head that swells to a pillow and slowly settles to a lid, leaving good lacing behind
Aroma: Warm brown bread, chocolate, melanoidin, toffee, a light and sweet nutty note, caramel, some earthiness, and wafts of brown sugar
Taste: Rich bready malt and earthiness kick it off and almost immediately joined by a rush of caramel, tree nuts, and brown sugar that intermingle and develop depth. Chocolate and toffee weave in as well and the depth of flavor is impressive throughout. Closes with earthy hops and bread
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, pretty clean throughout, and a smooth and fairly soft finish
Overall: This is an outstanding beer. I’ve heard a lot about this and love a good Brown ale and G-Town in general so was stoked to finally land it and it was worthy of all the praise. Easily one of the best Brown ales I’ve ever had as the balance is superb and the amount and depth of malt flavor is quite impressive. Highly recommended in general and especially so for fans of Brown ales

 

Can from Uptown Market.

A deep reddish brown with a large, beige head with good retention and lacing. The nose is a nice blend of cocoa, caramel and pine hops. The palate opens with a nice balance of bitterness and malt, sweeter flavors but on a light body. Caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, pine, a little mint are present. A really nice blend of hop resin and malt make for a creamy mouthfeel. Very tasty.

 

 

Pours a cloudy hazy chestnut brown, you don't notice the cloudiness unless held to light. Beautiful head on this beer, long time to settle. I now and drinking from a creamy light brown head, almost has a nitro look to it. Really nice lacing as well.

Aroma is roasty first and foremost; like slightly charred nuts, bread, grain. Then there is also a coffee breath aroma, you know what I'm talking about. Not full on coffee but that taste that lingers after your done a cup.

Taste is much the same but it comes off smoother, much smoother, than the nose would indicate. The roast is much more subdued, roasted became lightly toasted if you will. The coffee note is there as is some dark chocolate aftertaste. There is also a moderate hoppiness present as well that I didn't pick up at all in the nose. Or I did and just perceived as something else...

Mouthfeel is medium, it has a soft carbonation that gives it a creamy mouthfeel, nice moderate bitterness on the finish.

 

Pours a gorgeous clear brown color with a light tan head that provides significant lacing. Beautiful beer. The nose is chock full of chocolate and roasty coffee notes. I am in full-on salivation mode.

The chocolate is forward on the taste, with the roasty flavor at the back of the palate and a subtle hoppy bitterness that is, quite simply, a brilliant addition to this delicious beer.

The mouthfeel is medium and a bit creamy, drawing you back for me. I could drink GALLONS of this most excellent brown ale.

12oz can (dated 11/11/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a pleasant dark brown color with over 2 inches of tan head that had long lasting retention and light lacing.

Solid, but not overpowering, roast at the front of the nose, with some earthy grain notes underneath. Just a touch of very light hops. Same on the tongue, roast dominant, with a touch of sweetness and hop.

The body was medium-full, smooth, even, and had medium finish that dried out a touch. Drinkability was very good, one could easily have multiples of these. Overall, a nicely solid version of a style that we don't see much of anymore. Worth grabbing if you see it.

Pours a dark brown with a ruddy, murky transparency. Head is two and a half fingers of eager tan foam. Aroma is toasty, nutty, caramely, and bready malts. Fig, toffee, and dark bread push the malts a little further. Flavor profile is toasty, nutty, caramely, and bready malts. Nutty and bready malts form the bulk of the malt dominated flavor profile. Light notes of toffee, pumpernickel, and rye bread push this one further into the realm of a drink-able bakery. Grassy hops add a little bit more texture. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a creamy texture that carries some modest prickly effervescence around the edges. Overall, malt driven, but smooth. It's an easy sipping malt forward ale that isn't a stout. A wonderful example of the brown ale style.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz can.

 

Pours a slightly watered down for beer brown with a tan head that settles down after a minute. It smells like sweet toffee and caramel with slight hints of chocolate and coffee bitterness on the finish without much hop aroma. The taste has a slightly rich toffee up front that's beautifully smoothed out by a nice semi dark chocolate bitterness. This one straddles the line between being thick and thin in the mouth, but is easy going down. This one is really good. It's not an overpowering dark beer, but I can see this really complimenting spicy food.

 

Aha! A rare sighting of the elusive American Brown Ale! Medium brown pour, typical light head, low aroma, film lacing. Canned on Dec 17th, so perhaps the 2020 weirdness has changed the schedule. Good, rounded taste, just a bit hops but mostly the focus is on the malts. A good, solid offering which we'll be sure to pick up at least one more sixer. Maybe hold back the final two for May 14th.

Pours 1" of light tan, creamy head. Opaque amber, reddish brown color.

Aromas of caramel sweetness, chocolate, and bread yeast.

Taste follows the nose with chocolate and caramel flavors.

Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Effervescent and smooth.

Very tasty beer with an emphasis on sweetness. A subtle amount of hop bitterness. Lands somewhere between a stout and amber ale.
