A 10 ounce draft pour into a tulip glass at a tap house.
Appearance- Deep brown, opaque, medium brown frothy head, close to zero lacing, below average head retention, mild alcohol legs on the glass wall.
Aroma- Bourbon, cocoa, vanilla, medium strength of scent.
Flavor- Bourbon, roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, between medium and high strength of flavor.
Mouthfeel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, highly creamy, moderately bitter, moderately mouth warming, mildly mouth coating.
Overall- Deep brown and opaque with below average head retention and almost no lacing. The nose was a pleasant mix of bourbon, cocoa and vanilla with slightly below expected strength of scent. The flavor followed the nose, but with more roasted malt flavor than chocolate. The mouthfeel was the best attribute of this beer. It had between medium and full body and was highly creamy with moderate mouth warming character and bitterness. This was a solid beer overall, but not the leap from 9LB Porter I was expecting.

Draft at Taphouse. Dark, thick brown pour, ring of beige head. Roasty, chocolaty aroma with some booziness, bourbon. Taste is sweet, chocolate, light coffee ish notes, with the bourbon barrel settling in at the end. Plenty warm. Tasty too.

On tap at Kahootz, Meridian.
Dark brown pour bordering on black, reddish hues are noticeable - khaki head and minimal lacing.
Woody barrel notes meet the nose, roast and chocolate and some booze are there too.
Chocolate, bourbon barrel, hints of caramel and oak, decent sweetness, lighter body for a BBA beer, lower carbonation.
Overall a decent BBA offering for sure.
